Premier Course

Opened in 1990 by former European Tour winner Andrew Murray, the Premier course at Macdonald Portal hotel may not be as prestigious as it’s big sister Championship course, but it is still a pleasure to play.

Offering stunning scenery overlooking the Cheshire plains, the Premier offers a tricky test from each of its unique and characteristic holes. Kept in superb condition with immaculate yet quick greens, the Premier Course boasts some fine par 3’s including the seventeenth which is cut out of a sandstone quarry.

Serving as the perfect accompaniment to the Championship and Premier courses, the nine hole Arderne Course is ideal for a gentle warm up round or a fun par three competition, completing a trio of excellent courses at one of the UK’s most desirable golf resorts.
